Joy Askew In 2004, Joy returned home after attending the premiere of one of our films and composed a stirring and hauntingly beautiful ballad called "Poor Man's Greed." It would be another year before we met Joy and became aware of her long and accomplished muscial career. As it so happened, we were going through a period of deep disillusionment, and when she shared Poor Man's Greed with us, it was as if someone had struck a match in a cave that had previously been devoid of light. The song was so true and real, capturing the essence of the sadness, courage, and resolute idealism associated with every quest for justice. |
